Why Does US Disagree With Egypt How to Deal With a Palestine Gov, that Includes Hamas?

Hiyam Noir

GAZA - An Egyptian diplomatic source is quoted by the Gulf News of saying that there are disagreements with the US administration regarding the formation of a new Palestinian government. The US envoy to the Middle East,George Mitchell is quoted of saying to Egyptian officials during his visit to Cairo in January, that Washington is refusing to deal with a Palestinian government in which Hamas have a high chair.

The source accused the U.S. administration of changing its stance on dealing with a Hamas led government. The source stressed that consultations are continuing with Hamas and the U.S. administration, but " the new Palestinian government will not be chaired by Hamas or Fatah but by an independent, and acceptable politicians from all factions, including Hamas and Fatah will take portfolios relevant to negotiations and communications with the U.S. and European Union and some international organizations."

An Egyptian delegation headed by General Omar Al-Qenawi,the deputy director of the Egyptian intelligence service, will meet with some members in the leaderships of Hamas movement in the Syrian capital, Damascus next week. The Hamas delegation will discuss ways to ensure the success of the Palestinian national dialogue.Egypt has called on Palestinian political organizations to finalise the Palestinian national dialogue sessions in early April.

European Union supporting the Palestinian people rights

The European Union on Friday told the Israeli incoming government that there would be dire "consequences" if it did not accept Palestinian calls for statehood. The Israelis commitment to a just peace is in doubt after the formation of a right-wing coalition government."Relations would become very difficult indeed," said Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency. "At one of our next ministerial meetings we would have to discuss what consequences the EU would draw from that."

PalestinePM Ismail Haniyeh; The Palestinian state is only on Palestinian land

On Wednesday night, Ismail Haniyeh, the Palestinian prime minister attended his first public meeting since the Israelis Cast Lead Genocide on Gaza Strip. Haniyeh speech was held during a ceremony honoring the Royal Jordanian Medical Mission working in the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza: "At the time, in which Zionist talking about the alternative homeland or a Jordanian Palestinian state, and resettlement plots.""I rejects on behalf of the Palestinian people and our government, what the Zionist call an alternative home; The Palestinian state is only on Palestinian land. Hamas is rejecting the conspiracy of an alternative resettlement or repatriation, stressing adherence to the right of return and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

US Army Confirms Israeli Nukes; Israeli Aid At Stake

Dimona Reactor Israel Nuclear Warhead

Bryant Jordan

The Army has let slip one of the worst-kept secrets in the world -- that Israel has the bomb.Officially, the United States has a policy of “ambiguity” regarding Israel’s nuclear capability. Essentially, it has played a game by which it neither acknowledges nor denies that Israel is a nuclear power.

But a Defense Department study completed last year offers what may be the first time in a unclassified report that Israel is a nuclear power. On page 37 of the U.S. Joint Forces Command report, the Army includes Israel within "a growing arc of nuclear powers running from Israel in the west through an emerging Iran to Pakistan, India, and on to China, North Korea, and Russia in the east."

The single reference is far more than the U.S. usually would state publicly about Israel, even though the world knew Israel to be a nuclear power years before former nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu went public with facts on its weapons program in 1986.

Several years later investigative reporter Seymour Hersh published "The Samson Option," detailing Israel’s strategy of massive nuclear retaliation against Arab states in the event it felt its very existence was threatened. Israel’s nuclear arsenal has been estimated to range from 200 to 400 warheads.

As recently as Feb. 9 President Barack Obama ducked the question when asked pointedly by White House correspondent Helen Thomas whether he knew of any country in the Middle East that has nuclear weapons. Keeping the blinders on is necessary politically in order to avoid a policy confrontation with Israel.

Being a Partner for Peace

Best on the Web

March 27, 2009 Editorial

As he prepares to take office as Israel’s next prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu is offering what sounds like a tantalizing commitment. He said that his government will be a “partner for peace.”

“I will negotiate with the Palestinian Authority for peace,” he said.

We would like very much to take Mr. Netanyahu’s words at face value, and it would be a lot easier to do that if he had not worked so assiduously to build his reputation as a hard-liner with deep misgivings about the very peace process he now claims to be willing to embrace. In this year’s election campaign, he disparaged talks on a peace treaty with the Palestinians. Even now, he has not spelled out exactly what terms he is offering as a “peace partner.” He still cannot bring himself to endorse a two-state solution — which we believe must be part of any serious regional peace effort.

It will not be that hard to judge by his deeds, and relatively soon, whether Mr. Netanyahu is serious about seeking peace with the Palestinians. His government is expected to win parliamentary approval next week.

After that, we suggest that he start with freezing further settlement construction and expansion in the West Bank, as Israel has so often promised but failed to do. He should lift roadblocks between Palestinian cities and towns that are not needed for security. In East Jerusalem, he should stop the humiliating eviction of Palestinians. And in Gaza, he must expand exceptions to the blockade to allow the import of cement and reconstruction materials.

If Mr. Netanyahu is serious about being a partner for peace, he will not get in the way of the militant group Hamas entering a Palestinian unity government with the rival Fatah faction — as long as that government is committed to preventing terrorism and accepts past agreements between Israel and the Palestinians. He will recognize that the United States has its own interests in diplomacy with Syria, Iran and the Palestinians — and allow the Obama administration the freedom to pursue them. He also will not start a preventive war with Iran.

Palestinians are understandably skeptical about the change in Israeli leadership. Mr. Netanyahu’s “peace partner” commitment was part of a hard-nosed political deal designed to ensure that the Labor Party — a leader in Mideast peace efforts — would join his government and thus broaden its appeal at a difficult time.

As The Times’s Ethan Bronner reported, Israel is increasingly isolated and facing its worst diplomatic crisis in two decades following its Gaza war. Mr. Netanyahu has understandably raised alarms with the expectation that his foreign minister will be an ultranationalist leader with what are widely considered to be anti-Arab views. Failing to pursue peace talks with the Palestinians would only make things worse by causing frictions with the new Obama administration and with Europe.

Mr. Netanyahu is widely believed to be more open to peace talks with Syria than with the Palestinians. But some Israeli experts and officials have suggested that despite his hawkish reputation, he could turn out to be a leader who may also conclude peace with the Palestinians. He is now on record as promising to pursue that. We will watch eagerly and hope Israelis hold him to it.

Hamas: Our Win in UNRWA Arab Workers Union Elections Dealt a Blow to IOA

Hamas 21 Anniversary June 2008
PalestineFreeVoice Images

GAZA - The Hamas Movement stated Wednesday that its win in the elections of the Arab workers union in the UNRWA, in which more than 10,000 employees participated, dealt a blow to the Zionist occupation authority which thought it could undermine the popular rallying around the Palestinian resistance forces spearheaded by Hamas.

Hamas said in a statement that the UNRWA elections proved to the whole world that the Movement's popularity is on the rise and the Palestinian people would never forsake their Movement.

Hamas expressed its rejection of all ways of deception and misinformation used by some people to gain votes and purchase consciences, stressing that the Palestinian people today could separate the wheat from the chaff.

Informed sources confirmed that the Hamas bloc won 17 seats out of 27 in the elections of UNRWA employees, while eight seats went to the PLO factions and two to the independents.

Haniyeh: We will continue until the establishment of our full sovereign state

3/27/2009

GAZA - Ismail Haniyeh, Palestinian prime minister rejected the conspiracy of alternative resettlement or repatriation, stressing adherence to the right of return and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Haniyeh said at his first public attendance and participation on Wednesday night (25-3) during a ceremony honoring the Royal Jordanian Medical Mission working in Jordanian field hospital in Gaza: "At the time, in which Zionist talks about the alternative homeland or the Jordan Palestinian state and resettlement plots, I rejects on behalf of Palestinian people and the government what so-called the alternative home; the Palestinian state is only on the Palestinian land".

He added: "We reject the so-called alternative home, and we are with Jordan in the same trench in the face of what His Majesty King Abdullah called a conspiracy after the attack on Gaza", continuing:" We are in the same trench in the face of the Zionist schemes to displace the Palestinian people and to undermine the pillars of the neighboring Arab countries ".

The Prime Minister said: "No alternative home… No resettlement… No to harm the security of Jordan … We are on our land…on our soil... we will continue our straggle… until we establish our full sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital... and even the return of refugees to their land, which they left".

He pointed out that this first involvement of public participation since the Zionist enemy is due to his love to Jordan, and in recognition of their efforts and sacrifices and to be leaving the home to be with their people in Gaza.

He pointed out that the occupation, during the aggression on Gaza, thought that is capable of dealing with the Palestinian people alone, and that the people and the nation are dead, and that it was able to create security and political equations they want, but it disappointed. As well as the war started, the nation rose up in the streets of capitals.

He expressed his Government's appreciation to the role of Jordan's king, government and people, through demonstrations and sit-ins, sound high, in the diplomatic movement to stop the aggression, saying that it is not strange for Jordan to play in all fields and promote the political, relief and medical support for our people, standing with all its components with the brothers in Palestine in general, and Gaza in particular.

It was presented during the evening a special gift from the Palestinian government and people for the King of Jordan Abdullah II Al-Quds Quran, and the image of Al-Aqsa Mosque handed over to the official Jordanian military medical team, and it was also honored the entire medical staff of Jordan.

Israel Accused of 'New Gaza Crime'

Thousands of homes destroyed or damaged in Israeli onslaught on Gaza
Gaza City January 2009 Photo Fady Adwan PalestineFreeVoice Image

March 24 2009

A senior UN official has suggested that Israel should be held accountable for a "new crime against humanity" during its January assault on the Gaza strip.

Richard Falk, the UN's special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, said Israel had confined Palestinian civilians to the combat zone in Gaza, a unique move which should be outlawed.

"Such a war policy should be treated as a distinct and new crime against humanity, and should be formally recognised as such, and explicitly prohibited," Falk said in a report to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday.

Palestinian civilians were prevented from leaving the Gaza Strip during the three-week bombardment by the Israeli authorities.

Falk also called for an investigation into Israel's attack on Gaza, in which more than 1,300 Palestinians were killed and homes destroyed.

Israel said it carried out the assault to stop Palestinian rocket attacks on southern Israel.

Report condemned

Falk's comments formed part of a much longer report from nine UN investigators including specialists on the right to health, food, adequate housing and education, as well as on summary executions and violence against women.

"We've found the rapporteur's views to be anything but fair. We find them to be biased. We've made that very clear"

Robert Wood, US state department spokesman
Radhika Coomaraswamy, the UN secretary-general's Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, accused Israeli forces of using a child as a human shield in one incident.

Soldiers forced an 11-year-old boy to walk in front of them for several hours as they moved through the town of Tal al-Hawa on January 15, even after they had been shot at, her report said.

Aharon Leshno Yar, Israel's ambassador to the UN rights council, condemned the report, saying it "wilfully ignores and downplays the terrorist and other threats we face", and the alleged use by Palestinian fighters of human shields.
The US accused Falk of being biased.

"We've found the rapporteur's views to be anything but fair. We find them to be biased. We've made that very clear," Robert Wood, a US state department spokesman, told a media briefing on Monday.

'War crime'

Falk called for the probe to assess if the Israeli forces could differentiate between civilian and military targets in Gaza.

In depth

Analysis and features from after the war
"If it is not possible to do so, then launching the attacks is inherently unlawful, and would seem to constitute a war crime of the greatest magnitude under international law," Falk said in the report.

"On the basis of the preliminary evidence available, there is reason to reach this conclusion," he added, saying that attacks occurred in densely populated areas.

Falk, who has been critical of Israel in the past, was expelled from Israel during an attempt to visit Gaza in December, after he said Israel's policies on the territory amounted to a crime against humanity.

Israeli Predatores Discusting Taste for Violent Images

Dead Palestinian babies and bombed mosques - IOF fashion 2009

By Uri Blau

March 21 2008

The office at the Adiv fabric-printing shop in south Tel Aviv handles a constant stream of customers, many of them soldiers in uniform, who come to order custom clothing featuring their unit's insignia, usually accompanied by a slogan and drawing of their choosing. Elsewhere on the premises, the sketches are turned into plates used for imprinting the ordered items, mainly T-shirts and baseball caps, but also hoodies, fleece jackets and pants. A young Arab man from Jaffa supervises the workers who imprint the words and pictures, and afterward hands over the finished product.

Dead babies, mothers weeping on their children's graves, a gun aimed at a child and bombed-out mosques - these are a few examples of the images Israel Defense Forces soldiers design these days to print on shirts they order to mark the end of training, or of field duty. The slogans accompanying the drawings are not exactly anemic either: A T-shirt for infantry snipers bears the inscription "Better use Durex," next to a picture of a dead Palestinian baby, with his weeping mother and a teddy bear beside him. A sharpshooter's T-shirt from the Givati Brigade's Shaked battalion shows a pregnant Palestinian woman with a bull's-eye superimposed on her belly, with the slogan, in English, "1 shot, 2 kills." A "graduation" shirt for those who have completed another snipers course depicts a Palestinian baby, who grows into a combative boy and then an armed adult, with the inscription, "No matter how it begins, we'll put an end to it."

There are also plenty of shirts with blatant sexual messages. For example, the Lavi battalion produced a shirt featuring a drawing of a soldier next to a young woman with bruises, and the slogan, "Bet you got raped!" A few of the images underscore actions whose existence the army officially denies - such as "confirming the kill" (shooting a bullet into an enemy victim's head from close range, to ensure he is dead), or harming religious sites, or female or child non-combatants.

In many cases, the content is submitted for approval to one of the unit's commanders. The latter, however, do not always have control over what gets printed, because the artwork is a private initiative of soldiers that they never hear about. Drawings or slogans previously banned in certain units have been approved for distribution elsewhere. For example, shirts declaring, "We won't chill 'til we confirm the kill" were banned in the past (the IDF claims that the practice doesn't exist), yet the Haruv battalion printed some last year.

The slogan "Let every Arab mother know that her son's fate is in my hands!" had previously been banned for use on another infantry unit's shirt. A Givati soldier said this week, however, that at the end of last year, his platoon printed up dozens of shirts, fleece jackets and pants bearing this slogan.

"It has a drawing depicting a soldier as the Angel of Death, next to a gun and an Arab town," he explains. "The text was very powerful. The funniest part was that when our soldier came to get the shirts, the man who printed them was an Arab, and the soldier felt so bad that he told the girl at the counter to bring them to him."

Does the design go to the commanders for approval?

The Givati soldier: "Usually the shirts undergo a selection process by some officer, but in this case, they were approved at the level of platoon sergeant. We ordered shirts for 30 soldiers and they were really into it, and everyone wanted several items and paid NIS 200 on average."

What do you think of the slogan that was printed?

"I didn't like it so much, but most of the soldiers wanted it."

Many controversial shirts have been ordered by graduates of snipers courses, which bring together soldiers from various units. In 2006, soldiers from the "Carmon Team" course for elite-unit marksmen printed a shirt with a drawing of a knife-wielding Palestinian in the crosshairs of a gun sight, and the slogan, "You've got to run fast, run fast, run fast, before it's all over." Below is a drawing of Arab women weeping over a grave and the words: "And afterward they cry, and afterward they cry." [The inscriptions are riffs on a popular song.] Another sniper's shirt also features an Arab man in the crosshairs, and the announcement, "Everything is with the best of intentions."

G., a soldier in an elite unit who has done a snipers course, explained that, "it's a type of bonding process, and also it's well known that anyone who is a sniper is messed up in the head. Our shirts have a lot of double entendres, for example: 'Bad people with good aims.' Every group that finishes a course puts out stuff like that."

When are these shirts worn?

G. "These are shirts for around the house, for jogging, in the army. Not for going out. Sometimes people will ask you what it's about."

Of the shirt depicting a bull's-eye on a pregnant woman, he said: "There are people who think it's not right, and I think so as well, but it doesn't really mean anything. I mean it's not like someone is gonna go and shoot a pregnant woman."

What is the idea behind the shirt from July 2007, which has an image of a child with the slogan "Smaller - harder!"?

"It's a kid, so you've got a little more of a problem, morally, and also the target is smaller."

Do your superiors approve the shirts before printing?

"Yes, although one time they rejected some shirt that was too extreme. I don't remember what was on it."

These shirts also seem pretty extreme. Why draw crosshairs over a child - do you shoot kids?

'We came, we saw'

"As a sniper, you get a lot of extreme situations. You suddenly see a small boy who picks up a weapon and it's up to you to decide whether to shoot. These shirts are half-facetious, bordering on the truth, and they reflect the extreme situations you might encounter. The one who-honest-to-God sees the target with his own eyes - that's the sniper."

Have you encountered a situation like that?

"Fortunately, not involving a kid, but involving a woman - yes. There was someone who wasn't holding a weapon, but she was near a prohibited area and could have posed a threat."

What did you do?

"I didn't take it" (i.e., shoot).

You don't regret that, I imagine.

"No. Whomever I had to shoot, I shot."

A shirt printed up just this week for soldiers of the Lavi battalion, who spent three years in the West Bank, reads: "We came, we saw, we destroyed!" - alongside images of weapons, an angry soldier and a Palestinian village with a ruined mosque in the center.

A shirt printed after Operation Cast Lead in Gaza for Battalion 890 of the Paratroops depicts a King Kong-like soldier in a city under attack. The slogan is unambiguous: "If you believe it can be fixed, then believe it can be destroyed!"

Y., a soldier/yeshiva student, designed the shirt. "You take whoever [in the unit] knows how to draw and then you give it to the commanders before printing," he explained.

What is the soldier holding in his hand?

Y. "A mosque. Before I drew the shirt I had some misgivings, because I wanted it to be like King Kong, but not too monstrous. The one holding the mosque - I wanted him to have a more normal-looking face, so it wouldn't look like an anti-Semitic cartoon. Some of the people who saw it told me, 'Is that what you've got to show for the IOF? That it destroys homes?' I can understand people who look at this from outside and see it that way, but I was in Gaza and they kept emphasizing that the object of the operation was to wreak destruction on the infrastructure, so that the price the Palestinians and the leadership pay will make them realize that it isn't worth it for them to go on shooting. So that's the idea of 'we're coming to destroy' in the drawing."

According to Y., most of these shirts are worn strictly in an army context, not in civilian life. "And within the army people look at it differently," he added. "I don't think I would walk down the street in this shirt, because it would draw fire. Even at my yeshiva I don't think people would like it."

Y. also came up with a design for the shirt his unit printed at the end of basic training. It shows a clenched fist shattering the symbol of the Paratroops Corps.

Where does the fist come from?

"It's reminiscent of [Rabbi Meir] Kahane's symbol. I borrowed it from an emblem for something in Russia, but basically it's supposed to look like Kahane's symbol, the one from 'Kahane Was Right' - it's a sort of joke. Our company commander is kind of gung-ho."

Was the shirt printed?

"Yes. It was a company shirt. We printed about 100 like that."

This past January, the "Night Predators" demolitions platoon from Golani's Battalion 13 ordered a T-shirt showing a Golani devil detonating a charge that destroys a mosque. An inscription above it says, "Only God forgives."

One of the soldiers in the platoon downplays it: "It doesn't mean much, it's just a T-shirt from our platoon. It's not a big deal. A friend of mine drew a picture and we made it into a shirt."

What's the idea behind "Only God forgives"?

The soldier: "It's just a saying."

No one had a problem with the fact that a mosque gets blown up in the picture?

"I don't see what you're getting at. I don't like the way you're going with this. Don't take this somewhere you're not supposed to, as though we hate Arabs."

After Operation Cast Lead, soldiers from that battalion printed a T-shirt depicting a vulture sexually penetrating Hamas' prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, accompanied by a particularly graphic slogan. S., a soldier in the platoon that ordered the shirt, said the idea came from a similar shirt, printed after the Second Lebanon War, that featured Hassan Nasrallah instead of Haniyeh.

"They don't okay things like that at the company level. It's a shirt we put out just for the platoon," S. explained.

What's the problem with this shirt?

S.: "It bothers some people to see these things, from a religious standpoint ..."

How did people who saw it respond?

"We don't have that many Orthodox people in the platoon, so it wasn't a problem. It's just something the guys want to put out. It's more for wearing around the house, and not within the companies, because it bothers people. The Orthodox mainly. The officers tell us it's best not to wear shirts like this on the base."

The sketches printed in recent years at the Adiv factory, one of the largest of its kind in the country, are arranged in drawers according to the names of the units placing the orders: Paratroops, Golani, air force, sharpshooters and so on. Each drawer contains hundreds of drawings, filed by year. Many of the prints are cartoons and slogans relating to life in the unit, or inside jokes that outsiders wouldn't get (and might not care to, either), but a handful reflect particular aggressiveness, violence and vulgarity.

Print-shop manager Haim Yisrael, who has worked there since the early 1980s, said Adiv prints around 1,000 different patterns each month, with soldiers accounting for about half. Yisrael recalled that when he started out, there were hardly any orders from the army.

"The first ones to do it were from the Nahal brigade," he said. "Later on other infantry units started printing up shirts, and nowadays any course with 15 participants prints up shirts."

From time to time, officers complain. "Sometimes the soldiers do things that are inside jokes that only they get, and sometimes they do something foolish that they take to an extreme," Yisrael explained. "There have been a few times when commanding officers called and said, 'How can you print things like that for soldiers?' For example, with shirts that trashed the Arabs too much. I told them it's a private company, and I'm not interested in the content. I can print whatever I like. We're neutral. There have always been some more extreme and some less so. It's just that now more people are making shirts."

Race to be unique

Evyatar Ben-Tzedef, a research associate at the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism and former editor of the IOF publication Maarachot, said the phenomenon of custom-made T-shirts is a product of "the infantry's insane race to be unique. I, for example, had only one shirt that I received after the Yom Kippur War. It said on it, 'The School for Officers,' and that was it. What happened since then is a product of the decision to assign every unit an emblem and a beret. After all, there used to be very few berets: black, red or green. This changed in the 1990s. [The shirts] developed because of the fact that for bonding purposes, each unit created something that was unique to it.

"These days the content on shirts is sometimes deplorable," Ben-Tzedef explained. "It stems from the fact that profanity is very acceptable and normative in Israel, and that there is a lack of respect for human beings and their environment, which includes racism aimed in every direction."

Yossi Kaufman, who moderates the army and defense forum on the Web site Fresh, served in the Armored Corps from 1996 to 1999. "I also drew shirts, and I remember the first one," he said. "It had a small emblem on the front and some inside joke, like, 'When we die, we'll go to heaven, because we've already been through hell.'"

Kaufman has also been exposed to T-shirts of the sort described here. "I know there are shirts like these," he says. "I've heard and also seen a little. These are not shirts that soldiers can wear in civilian life, because they would get stoned, nor at a battalion get-together, because the battalion commander would be pissed off. They wear them on very rare occasions. There's all sorts of black humor stuff, mainly from snipers, such as, 'Don't bother running because you'll die tired' - with a drawing of a Palestinian boy, not a terrorist. There's a Golani or Givati shirt of a soldier raping a girl, and underneath it says, 'No virgins, no terror attacks.' I laughed, but it was pretty awful. When I was asked once to draw things like that, I said it wasn't appropriate."

The IDF Spokesman's Office comments on the phenomenon: "Military regulations do not apply to civilian clothing, including shirts produced at the end of basic training and various courses. The designs are printed at the soldiers' private initiative, and on civilian shirts. The examples raised by Haaretz are not in keeping with the values of the IDF spirit, not representative of IDF life, and are in poor taste. Humor of this kind deserves every condemnation and excoriation. The IDF intends to take action for the immediate eradication of this phenomenon. To this end, it is emphasizing to commanding officers that it is appropriate, among other things, to take discretionary and disciplinary measures against those involved in acts of this sort."

Shlomo Tzipori, a lieutenant colonel in the reserves and a lawyer specializing in martial law, said the army does bring soldiers up on charges for offenses that occur outside the base and during their free time. According to Tzipori, slogans that constitute an "insult to the army or to those in uniform" are grounds for court-martial, on charges of "shameful conduct" or "disciplinary infraction," which are general clauses in judicial martial law.

Sociologist Dr. Orna Sasson-Levy, of Bar-Ilan University, author of "Identities in Uniform: Masculinities and Femininities in the Israeli Military," said that the phenomenon is "part of a radicalization process the entire country is undergoing, and the soldiers are at its forefront. I think that ever since the second intifada there has been a continual shift to the right. The pullout from Gaza and its outcome - the calm that never arrived - led to a further shift rightward.

"This tendency is most strikingly evident among soldiers who encounter various situations in the territories on a daily basis. There is less meticulousness than in the past, and increasing callousness. There is a perception that the Palestinian is not a person, a human being entitled to basic rights, and therefore anything may be done to him."

Could the printing of clothing be viewed also as a means of venting aggression?

Sasson-Levy: "No. I think it strengthens and stimulates aggression and legitimizes it. What disturbs me is that a shirt is something that has permanence. The soldiers later wear it in civilian life; their girlfriends wear it afterward. It is not a statement, but rather something physical that remains, that is out there in the world. Beyond that, I think the link made between sexist views and nationalist views, as in the 'Screw Haniyeh' shirt, is interesting. National chauvinism and gender chauvinism combine and strengthen one another. It establishes a masculinity shaped by violent aggression toward women and Arabs; a masculinity that considers it legitimate to speak in a crude and violent manner toward women and Arabs."

Col. (res.) Ron Levy began his military service in the Sayeret Matkal elite commando force before the Six-Day War. He was the IDF's chief psychologist, and headed the army's mental health department in the 1980s.

Levy: "I'm familiar with things of this sort going back 40, 50 years, and each time they take a different form. Psychologically speaking, this is one of the ways in which soldiers project their anger, frustration and violence. It is a certain expression of things, which I call 'below the belt.'"

Do you think this a good way to vent anger?

Levy: "It's safe. But there are also things here that deviate from the norm, and you could say that whoever is creating these things has reached some level of normality. He gives expression to the fact that what is considered abnormal today might no longer be so tomorrow."

Our Ambassador to Poland

By Khalid Amayreh

21 March, 2009

Many of our so-called ambassadors around the world are really unqualified for the job. They simply lack the required professionalism and experience to communicate the plight of our people and justice of our national cause to a world community that is heavily bombarded by Zionist lies around the clock.

I say “so-called” because we are not a state, or even a quasi-state, to have luxurious embassies which fruitlessly consume a significant chunk of our scant financial resources.Added to that is the too-well-known fact that most of these “ambassadors” are chosen rather haphazardly irrespective of their abilities and qualifications. Some of these actually don’t speak English and their knowledge of international politics is minimal or nonexistent.

Hence, instead of being misrepresented by these flamboyant and often ineffective money-grabbing operatives, who spend much of their time throwing parties and visiting local bars, we should post in the capitals of the world professional spokespersons, fluent in foreign languages, who can effectively and eloquently communicate the truth about Israeli barbarianism.

Still there are more serious problems involving clearly improper behavior on the part of some of our diplomats.According to reports from Warsaw, our ambassador to Poland (I don’t want to mention his name) threw a farewell party in honor of his Zionist friend, the Israeli ambassador to Poland David Pylgaeim (sic) on the occasion of the latter’s end of term.

I don’t have all the details of this most dishonorable behavior on the part of the ambassador who on several occasions denounced Palestinian resistance to Israeli Nazism as “violence and terror.”

However, if these reports which I have received from reliable sources in Warsaw are proven accurate, then the PLO which claims to be the “sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people” should take a swift decision to sack and punish this man.

Socializing amicably with the representative of a Nazi-like state, whose SS-like army, has just reduced the Gaza Strip to ruins and exterminated and incinerated thousands of Palestinian civilians with White Phosphorus and dart shells, implies that the Palestinian representative in Warsaw is either habitually drunk, blackmailed, ignorant or traitor, characters each of which is sufficient to get him sacked immediately.

It means that the ambassador doesn’t take the blood of the 1400 Palestinians slaughtered by the Jewish Wehrmacht seriously. It means that he is thoroughly preoccupied with his own morbid whims, such as endearing himself to Zionist circles.Such behavior by the very man who is supposed to represent his people and champion their cause is nothing short of a cancer upon the collective conscience of our people.

I don’t know if this ambassador and his despicable behaviors represent the norm or the exception among Palestinian diplomats. However, one can hardly rest assured, pretending that things are alright. This writer has been told by confidential and reliable sources that some of our diplomats are heavy drinkers who often indulge in promiscuous conduct, which clearly makes them vulnerable to blackmail by the Mossad and other intelligence apparatuses.

This is of course in addition to indulging in a behavior unbecoming a dignified Palestinian, let alone a dignified Muslim. I have also been told that a good number of our diplomats indulge in illegal business activities in violation of their diplomatic status.Unfortunately, the PLO leadership in Ramallah is utterly ignoring this matter that causes immense damage to our reputation, dignity and national interests. Indeed, as far as I know, our Zionist-friendly ambassador has been neither rebuked nor reprimanded by his “bosses” in Ramallah, which amounts to giving him a green light to indulge in a fresh scandal.

Afif Safya

Afif Safya is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable Palestinian diplomats. He had served as PLO representative in London, Washington and most recently in Moscow. He appeared numerous times on western TV screens explaining rather eloquently the Palestinian people’s struggle against Israeli Nazism, often prompting Zionist circles to ask the late PLO leader Yasser Arafat to fire him.

Arafat refused, but his successor, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, seems to hate to see a dignified and capable Palestinian diplomat carry out his tasks professionally and successfully.A few weeks ago, Abbas reportedly arbitrarily fired Safya from his post for attending a Moscow rally protesting the recent Israeli blitzkrieg against Gaza.

According to the London-based newspaper, al-Qods al Arabi, Safya protested the decision , explaining that in his capacity as the Palestinian ambassador to Russia, he attended the rally which focused on the criminal Zionist invasion of the Gaza Strip which left hundreds of Palestinians murdered and maimed.Again, if this is true, then the depravity of the PLO leadership must have reached unprecedented levels bordering on treason.

This is also another important reason that the PLO leadership must be overthrown and replaced by another leadership that is answerable to the Palestinian people.

Ahmad Sa'adat Transferred to Solitary Confinement in Asqelan Prison!

March 20 2008 2:40 PM

Editors note: Since the erection of Israel, a superficial shallow state on Arab lands, the Nazi -Zionists have continued hostile and dangerous activities on all levels against the Palestinian society,in Gaza Strip, on the West Bank and Al Quds (Jerusalem),including abductions and torture of Palestinian freedom fighters. In particular members of resistance groups affiliated to Palestinian Islamic organizations and the Palestinian radical left.

There should be the swiftness of a deserved retribution, extensive retaliatory actions against the Nazi Zionist Israel. However, the Palestinians alone does not have the means to conduct a state -of -the -art military warfare, nor do the Palestinians have access to conventional weaponry to carry out coordinated attacks against the enemy and brutal oppressor.

Unwary people all over the world have been taken advantage of, manipulated and deceived by the Jewish Holocaust propaganda apparatus. Thanks to non biased investigating journalism TV broadcasts networks, and the freedom of information on the Internet, the world community have awakened from it's long slumber.Conciuos intelligent people are no longer willing to grant favorable judgements or protection to a group of people ( the Jews)which have proved to be capable and guilty of the same heinous crimes against humanity they are accusing people from other cultures and other religions of.

International Human Rights groups, prosecutors and lawyers are working make shifts to collect evidence to capture and bring the Nazi Zionist warcriminlas to justice. The process of reaching our goal will be time consuming, we will meet steep hurdles on our course for justice, but we will overcome, not weary or discouraged. The first ruling against Israel crimes of Genocide in Gaza Strip will seat a court of justice composed of 14 prosecutors, lawyers and scholars to interpret the law on Human Rights.

A committee from 11 countries, in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia have formally denounced heinous violations of the Geneva Convention and of all Humanitarian International Declarations on Human Rights conducted in the Israelis "Cast Lead Operation " across Gaza Strip, separately the court will
present a good case of action, supporting facts including evidence of severe crimes conducted against Palestinian political. prisoners.

On March 19, 2009, Ahmad Sa'adat was suddenly transferred from Hadarim prison to Asqelan prison, where he is being held in solitary confinement, neglected and tortured.

Ahmad Sa'adat alongside 11,000 other Palestinian prisoners, has been repeatedly subjected to solitary confinement and punitive measures at the behest of the Israeli regime. Sa'adat has been moved repeatedly from prison to prison, and often placed in solitary confinement or isolation.

Palestinian lawyer Buthaina Duqmaq, president of the Mandela Association for Palestinian prisoners, stated that this is part of the Israeli policies towards Palestinian prisoners. Sa'adat has been particularly targeted because he is both a Palestinian national leader and a leader among the prisoners, whose presence within the prison strengthens the prisoners' unity and stead fastness.

Furthermore, Ahmad Sa'adat is suffering from back injuries that require medical assistance and treatment. Instead of receiving the medical care he needs, the Israeli prison officials are refusing him access to specialists and engaging in medical neglect and maltreatment. Now, they are returning him to isolation where he will face even more serious medical neglect and injury.

The Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa'adat demands an end to this isolation and calls upon all to write to the International Committee of the Red Cross and other human rights organizations to exercise their responsibilities and act swiftly to demand that the Israelis ensure that Ahmad Sa'adat and all Palestinian prisoners receive needed medical care and that this punitive isolation be ended. Email the ICRC, whose humanitarian mission includes monitoring the conditions of prisoners, at jerusalem.jer@icrc.org,and inform them about the urgent situation of Ahmad Sa'adat!

The imprisonment of Sa'adat, facing a 30 year sentence for his powerful and political leadership of the Palestinian people, is a symbol of Israel's attempts to isolate and target the Palestinian people and their national movement for liberation, through massive imprisonment. They have not succeeded in breaking the will of the people of Palestine, through imprisonment, massacres, and siege, and will never succeed in breaking the will of Sa'adat, the Palestinian prisoners, or the Palestinian people.

Freedom for Ahmad Sa'adat and to all Palestinian prisoners now!

During the Netanyahu Regime :Israelis Terrorized Dar El Tifl ( the Children’s House).

.

Dar El Tifl ( the Children’s House)

Israeli Settlers & Soldiers Attacked a East Jerusalem Orphanage

By Pat McDonnell Twair

The pressure of encroaching Judaization of East Jerusalem has increased four-fold since the election of Likud party ideologue Binyamin Netanyahu as prime minister of Israel. Nowhere is it stronger than in the traditionally upscale Arab neighborhood of Sheikh Jarah. Orient House, unofficial headquarters of the Palestinian National Authority in Jerusalem, has been the special target of the Netanyahu regime and of Jewish settlers who stationed themselves in front of the elegant old structure the day Netanyahu’s victory was announced. Directly across the street from Orient House is the 106-year-old Dar Husseini (Husseini House), which since April 25, 1948 has been the site of an orphanage called Dar El Tifl (Children’s House).

Nearly 50 years after the orphanage was established for 55 tiny survivors of a massacre of Palestinian villagers by Jewish terrorists, Israeli militants still are threatening youngsters who live inside its walls. Why would Israeli extremists want to terrorize Palestinian orphans, the Washington Report asked Dalal Muhtadi, president of Dar El Tifl-USA.

“It’s simple,” she replied. “Religious fanatics in Israel want to wipe out every indication of a Palestinian presence in Jerusalem.”

One of the first Zionist attempts to do exactly that took place April 9, 1948, when 254 Palestinian civilians were massacred in the hilltop village of Deir Yassin, overlooking the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem road, by members of the Irgun and Stern Gang Jewish militias, supported by artillerymen of the Haganah, the future army of Israel. While many of the victims were women and children, 55 traumatized infants and youngsters were spared by being trucked to East Jerusalem and dumped on a street in the Arab quarter. There Hind Husseini, a member of a leading Muslim family in Jerusalem, found the terrified survivors huddling against a wall and gave them shelter inside her family mansion. Two weeks later, on her 32nd birthday, Husseini officially named her family home Dar El Tifl. The orphanage grew and, before the 1967 Israeli invasion, two four-story buildings were constructed on the grounds. Today there are 250 orphans and 1,450 day students. Instruction is from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Dar El Tifl also operates a college devoted to Palestinian arts and culture, a joint venture with Jerusalem University. The original family residence now houses a primary health clinic downstairs and guest quarters upstairs for international visitors.

Over the years, Miss Hind turned down offers of millions of U.S. dollars for her property and, shortly before her death in 1995, she took the ultimate step in protecting it from falling into the hands of the Israelis by registering it as a possession of the Waqf (the Islamic religious authority).

“Extremist Jews say that eventually they will take over the Haram al Sharif,” Muhtadi shrugged, “but until they go to those outrageous limits, Dar El Tifl should remain out of their grasp.”

That doesn’t mean that mean-spirited settlers don’t do their best to make life miserable—even scary—for Dar El Tifl students. Twice, settlers have broken the gate of the school, entered the playground area and threatened children. Inasmuch as Orient House, across the street, is a target of the fanatical settlers, they’ve installed themselves in front of the school and raised wooden signs painted with a skull and crossbones on the school wall. As the day students approach the school, the racist settlers make them walk a gauntlet of insults and loud curses.

This has been described by Mahira Dajani, head of Dar El Tifl’s board of trustees, who writes: “The scholastic year 1995/ 1996 was the worst year in the history of Dar El Tifl. We have tried to teach our children the love of peace and to train them to accept peaceful co-existence as a reality and to forget the evils of war. The presence of settlers outside the school gate changed the children’s outlook on life as a whole. The settlers harassed the children in many ways, including: uttering filthy words and making lewd gestures, throwing rotten fruit and empty bottles at the school gate and inside the school grounds, and trespassing onto the school grounds repeatedly so that the school has been forced to erect a wire fence over the wall.”

The school wall has become a favorite place for Israeli troops to stand, thus imposing a siege mentality on the children in the playground. Since Netanyahu’s election, the military presence has been increased in front of Orient House. School officials complain the live ammunition the soldiers use has a bad smell. But the odor of gunpowder is nothing compared to the stench of urine. Portable latrines have been set up in front of the school for the soldiers’ use, but they relieve themselves throughout the area, the Palestinians believe, as a deliberate insult.

“You can’t imagine how terrible it is,” Muhtadi commented. “The urine odor is overwhelming for a three-block radius.”

Many day students have transferred to other schools rather than be chased and threatened by settlers. The Israeli policy of making Jerusalem off-bounds to West Bank and Gazan Palestinians has left students from the West Bank and Gaza with one of two choices: becoming boarders at Dar El Tifl and seldom visiting their families, or leaving Dar El Tifl for schools closer to home. Israelis also have tried to lure Dar El Tifl teachers and staff away with better salaries.

“It’s a difficult choice for many of the teachers,” Muhtadi explained. “Of course they have loyalty for us, but Palestinians are squeezed financially and if they can feed their families with three times the salary we pay, it is understandable in some cases.” The school also has lost those of its teachers who live on the West Bank, because Israel won’t grant them identity cards to enter Jerusalem.

Two of the children who have been brought to live at Dar El Tifl are Sabreen, 5, and Wafa, 15. Sabreen’s father was shot and killed after he finished his prayers at a mosque in Gaza. At the time, Sabreen’s mother, who suffers from heart problems and has twice undergone surgery, was pregnant with her third child. She had no choice but to leave Sabreen at Dar. Wafa is from Bethlehem, where her mother was shot dead by Israeli bullets when she was shopping. Her father is unemployed. He brought Wafa and her two brothers and two sisters to Dar.

Despite the daily obscenities by settlers in the name of their religion, and the protection of the settlers by the soldiers of the Netanyahu regime, which only wants to acquire real estate, Muhtadi’s organization raised $14,000 for Dar El Tifl in 1996. But after the carnage at Qana, Lebanon, where some 105 Lebanese civilians were killed in April 1996 by deliberate Israeli shelling of a United Nations camp, half of the proceeds were devoted to a project on behalf of Qana victims. Muhtadi learned a used Red Cross ambulance was soon to go on sale for $10,000 in Germany. She formed an emergency committee of Arab-American businessmen in Orange County, CA, and they raised an additional $3,000 to meet the full price of the ambulance. Pharmaceuticals and an EKG machine were donated in Europe and put into the ambulance which was shipped to Beirut in December. Once the vehicle was unloaded, signpainters wrote in red letters in Arabic on the side of the ambulance: “From the Children of Deir Yassin to the Children of Qana with Love.”

MPs meet Hamas leader in Damascus

March 14, 2009

DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Four members of the British parliament met Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal on Saturday and urged their government to end its boycott of the Palestinian group "to achieve just peace."

"We need to talk to Hamas to make progress (towards peace) because they represent a big proportion of the Palestinians," Clare Short, an MP of the governing Labour Party, told reporters.

Britain, along with the European Union and the United States, has said there can be no dealing with Hamas until it recognises Israel, renounces armed struggle and accepts interim peace accords.

Short said after meeting Meshaal that opening up discussions with Hamas immediately would "move things forward in the hope that we in the end achieve just peace."

The meeting was publicised, in contrast to several European politicians who met Meshaal in the last few months away from the spotlight.

The delegation included a second Labour member of the House of Commons and two Liberal Democrat members of the upper chamber, the House of Lords. One Irish parliamentarian and one member of the Scottish parliament were also present.

Parliamentarians from Italy and Greece are expected to visit Damascus to meet Meshaal next week.

Calls have increased in the West to deal with Hamas after the Israeli invasion of Gaza which was halted in January.

Israel and Hamas declared separate ceasefires in the Gaza Strip after the 22-day Israeli offensive devastated the densely-populated Palestinian territory and killed about 1,300 Palestinians. Thirteen Israelis were killed.

Meshaal had urged the West lift its boycott of Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip.

Hamas won a parliamentary election in 2006 and drove its Fatah rivals from Gaza by force in 2007. The two groups are currently holding talks on a Palestinian unity government under Egyptian auspices in Cairo.

Hamas is mainly backed by Syria and Iran, and Hamas's exiled leadership lives in Syria, including Meshaal. The two countries also support Lebanon's Hezbollah.

Britain said this month it was open to hold talks with the political wing of Hezbollah after the Shi'ite group joined a unity government last year.

France, which played a role in halting the Gaza war, has indicated that it might be prepared to hold talks with Hamas even if Hamas did not recognise Israel.

Leaders of Hamas have said they are not prepared to recognise Israel but would accept establishment of a Palestinian state on land occupied by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war in return for a truce with the Jewish state lasting decades.

Nine NATO allies have pledged to stop arms smuggling to Gaza. United States,Canada and seven European states including Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Norway have signed a “program of action.” According to a representative of the group, the nine NATO allies have designed an agreement billed as part of an international attempt, allegedly to stabilize a Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire in Gaza.Hamas movement which is now the ruling authority in Gaza shun the nine NATO members campaign claiming that it has the right to defend it self and the Palestinian people 0f Gaza.

Importing arms for defense is imperative to stop violent intruders from entering Gaza territorial border, but conventional weapons can not stop Israeli biological and chemical warfare campaigns against Gaza.Interestingly, the Fatah ruled PLO on the West Bank has received multi millions of dollars in armed support from the United States. Why are the Palestinians in Gaza Strip not granted the security of having an organized operative military defense, including high-tech communication systems?

By sharing information, diplomatic pressure and other measures, for example the act of interception at sea,the nine NATO members believe they can stop alleged weapon smuggling to Gaza Strip,Adding that naval ships would not use force. The agreement reached by representatives of the pact, says that individual member states are not obliged to carry out any actions.According to the working group, actions will be taken to the extent that national legal authorities permit and that it is consistent with international law, to support interdiction activities.Such efforts may include enquiry, boarding, searching, stopping, seizing, or other efforts necessary to prevent transfers of arms and ammunition”.

The Rebuilding of Gaza

A charity, the Welfare Association, a private and non-profit foundation established in Geneva in 1983 to support Palestinian society in sustainable development, have spent 2.6 million USD on emergency needs in Gaza Strip. Five projects have been launched since the cessation of the Israelis genocidal, biological and chemical war on Gaza.

The Welfare Association is supported by donors from Europe. More than 100,000 impoverished people in Gaza mostly children, are the beneficiaries from the projects, which include providing fuel for 100 hospitals.Health care centers have received 164 donations of medical emergency equipment.10,000 food packages have been handed out, 10,000 milk cans and 1,500 school uniforms for girls and 2,000 wool sweaters.

A charity establishment from the United Arab Emirate (UAE)said on Friday that it will donate 17 million USD for three projects to help Gaza Strip recover from Israel’s three-week war and the ongoing siege. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Charity and the Humanitarian Establishment (MBRCHE) in the United Arab Emirates announced in a press conference in Dubai on Friday, that the aid money to Gaza will be spent on rehabilitation of the sewage network, on water treatment, and assistance to the Gaza fishing industry.Ibrahim Bumilh, deputy Chairman of the MBRCE's Board of Trustees, said that recent studies revealed that the most important projects in Gaza Strip would be those aimed at improving standards of living and helping Gaza economy to recover.

Mr. Bumilh emphasized that the population in Gaza rely on groundwater that is pumped by artisan wells to treatment plants. He said that - “Three major water reservoirs will be refurbished after they sustained partial damage during Israeli offensive. Furthermore, the water network will be rehabilitated through the installment of new pipes in areas where old pipes have been completely destroyed - 250 water wells which were completely destroyed in the Israeli offensive will be rehabilitated, in addition to 53 water wells that were partially destroyed." The MBRCHE "will also bring 20 injured children to Dubai in the coming week for medical treatment, including replacement of legs and arms destroyed in the Israelis genocidal war campaign on Gaza."

Israeli Travel Ban Upheld Against Shawan Jabarin

.
Shawan Jabarin at his desk University of Irland

Shawan Jabarin, the director of a leading Palestinian Human Rights group the al-Haq in the West Bank city of Ramallah, asked the Israeli Supreme Court on Thursday to lift a travel ban preventing him from traveling to the Netherlands next week to accept the Geuzen prize, a prestigious prize, recognizing human rights work.He had hoped to be able to travel to the Netherlands to accept the "Geuzen-Penning Prize" on behalf of his organization, but the Israeli Supreme Court this week upheld a travel ban against him, citing security concerns.

Jabarin said the Israeli charges are politically motivated, targeting him for his work documenting Israeli human rights violations in the West Bank. He said the ruling was based on secret evidence presented to the judge while everyone else - including Jabarin and his lawyer - had to wait outside.Court documents show that Jabarin was convicted by an Israeli court and served 9 months in prison in 1985 because his affiliation to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine ( PFLP), a resistance group, considered by the Israelis to be a terror group.

Nazi Israel … Indeed

.

By Dr. Elias Akleh

24 December, 2008

Richard Falk, the professor of international law at Princeton University and the UN’s special rapporteur on the Palestinian territories, had accused Israel of violating international law, international humanitarian laws, and the Geneva Convention. He described Israel’s policies against Palestinians and its siege of Gaza as “war crimes”, “genocidal tendencies”, “holocaust implications”, and “holocaust-in-the-making”. He urged the International Criminal Court to look into the possibility of indicting Israeli leaders for war crimes.

Professor Falk had a little taste of Israel’s Nazi-like crimes and human rights violation when he traveled to Israel, last Sunday December 14th, 2008, to visit the Occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip to report on Israel’s compliance with human rights standards and international humanitarian law. The Israelis “detained” Professor Falk at the airport, treated his as a criminal and a threat to the state, humiliated him and deported him next day back to Geneva.

Despite Israel’s strong declaration that every Jew in the world is automatically granted full Israeli citizenship with all the protections this entails, and despite being a Jew himself, Professor Falk was not spared the humiliations and cruelty Israel treats its enemies with

Emboldened by the American blind and unconditional support, defiant Israel wanted to publicly give its finger to Falk and to the UN he represents, declaring itself above all international laws and above any criticism of its crimes and human rights violations even if such criticism comes from a Jew himself. Such defying humiliation of the world political body is meant to distract the UN, and thus the whole world, away from the holocaust it is perpetrating against the 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza, and all its on-going war crimes against the rest of Palestinians throughout the whole Palestine.

Falk’s accusations of Israel’s Nazi-like holocaustal implications are no different from those made by John Dugard, his predecessor, in several reports on conditions in occupied Palestine. Many conscientious political figures, as well as regular citizens, around the world had described Israel’s policies in occupied Palestine in specific and in the Middle East in general as war crimes and threat to world peace.

Comparing the present-day Israel with Nazi Germany one discovers that the majority of the Israeli policies are the exact copies of the Nazi policies. Nazi Germany had invaded its European neighbors extending from England to Russia. Israel had also invaded all its neighboring

Book Cover Image

countries; Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. It is also heavily involved in the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Its tentacles had also reached African countries as far as South Africa, Somalia, Sudan, Angola, and Sierra Leone.

Nazi war machines used to invade resisting towns, line up the men in the center of the town to be executed in cold blood, and destroyed the whole town as a deterring example for any possible other resisting towns. Worse than the Nazis Israeli forces used to invade peaceful Palestinian towns, execute men, women and children in cold blood everywhere and anywhere they encounter them, dynamite their homes on top of their residents, and finally demolish the whole town making room for new Israeli colonies. Throughout 1948/49 Israelis had committed 70 ugly massacres against Palestinian villagers, and totally destroyed 675 Palestinian towns and villages including their churches and mosques. Such massacres and demolitions followed a set pattern, repeated in one village after the other, indicating a pre-meditated genocidal plan.

In the words of the late Israeli General Moshe Dayan: “The declaration of the State of Israel in 1948 was at the expense of ethnically cleansing 513 Palestinian villages, creating over 700,000 Palestinian refugees and expropriating their lands, homes and businesses in 78% of Palestine … There is not one single place built in this country that did not have a former (Palestinian) population.”

Israel is, still up till today, carrying these same genocidal Nazi-like holocaustal crimes gradually choking 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza to death by starvation, thirst, lack of fuel and disease. Israeli army is in the process of demolishing 40 Palestinian villages in the Negev desert. Army bulldozers are daily destroying Palestinian homes in major Palestinian cities such as Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, and Nablus.

The Nazi army perpetrated many massacres against prisoners of war. They used to execute prisoners and dump them in graves the prisoners where ordered to dig for themselves. The Israeli army followed the same method of executing prisoners of war especially during 1956 and 1967 Israeli-Egyptian wars. This was reported in the Israeli Haaretz newspaper in June 27th 2000. The Egyptian Human Rights Organization Secretary-General, Muhammad Munib, submitted a report confirming that Israel had killed between 7,000 to 15,000 Egyptian prisoners of wars of 1956 and 1967. The report also identified the locations of 11 mass graves in Sinai and Israel in which thousands of Egyptian prisoners were buried.

The most prominent of these massacres was the El-Arish massacre, where Israeli forces murdered at least 150 Egyptian prisoners of war. Some of the prisoners were run over by Israeli tanks several times, a crime that is still practiced by Israeli army especially in the Gaza Strip. The story of the massacre was originally reported by Israeli eyewitnesses in Israel’s Yediot Ahronot newspaper, and later by Israeli journalist Ran Adelist on Israeli television. It was also reported by the Washington Report of May/June 1996 pages 27 and 28. The massacre was also recorded by the American USS Liberty surveillance ship that was sailing 12 miles off the shore of Gaza. This massacre was a serious war crime and could have been the main reason for the Israeli attack on the Liberty.

Worse than the Nazis the Israeli army had adopted the policy of targeting young Palestinian children in an attempt to “nudge” Palestinian families to leave the country for the sake of the future of the children, and/or to exhaust their financial resources in treating and caring for their disabled and crippled wounded children; the victims of Israeli snipers. Since the beginning of the second Palestinian Intifada, September 2000, Israeli forces have murdered 1050 children in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank; see also the Guardian, October 21, 2008, and Al-Jazeera, October 22, 2008. A Palestinian Centre for Human Rights report documented, with eyewitness testimonies, at least 68 children were murdered by Israeli army during 12 months from June 07 to June 07 just before the cease fire agreement. The child murder toll rose dramatically during the first six months of 2008 with the Israeli army massive assault of “Operation Winter Heat” against Gaza Strip. Children were directly targeted by Israeli snipers while walking in the streets, while standing in front of their homes, and even while sitting in their school rooms, also directly by drone missiles while playing in courts. They are also the indirect victims if Israeli deliberate targeting densely populated residential areas (Gaza is densely populated) including schools, hospitals and food markets.

The average age of the targeted children was ten years old according to a thousand-page document by Save the Children. The majority of these children were innocent bystanders not participating in any “hostile” activity or causing any threat to the heavily armed Israeli soldiers. In the 80% of the cases of targeted children, the Israeli army prevented the victim from receiving any medical attention. The report also documented that more than 50,000 child victims required medical attention for injuries including gunshot wounds, tear gas inhalation and multiple fractures. A bulletin titled “Deliberate Murder” published in 1989 by the Israeli League for Human and Civil Rights reported the targeting of Palestinian children by Israeli army and snipers from “special unit” had “carefully chosen” the children, who were shot in the head or heart and died instantaneously (Mike Berry & Greg Philo, ‘Israel and Palestine-Competing Histories’, Pluto Press, London, 2006, pp. 86-87).

According to the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention, and the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (signed by Israel) children are to be afforded special protection during international armed conflicts. Israel had, and still is violating these international laws.

Like Nazi Germany, who developed and used all kinds of new weapons including the V2 rocket bomb and nerve gas, Israel has used every kind of weapons, even new experimental ones, against Palestinian civilians. This included the Dumdum exploding bullets, nerve gas, experimental chemical and biological weapons, flying drones, and DIME (Dense Inert Metal Explosive) and the latest remote control high power machine guns (seer shoots) installed on the high towers of the imprisoning wall (separation wall) and operated by teen aged female soldiers in far away operating rooms like computerized war games. Israel is also know to be a nuclear weapon and is always hinting at using it if/when they feel threatened.

Nazi Germans were brainwashed and driven by a social supremacist ideology of the superior Aryan Race (Der Supermann). They believed that they were superior to the rest of the people and that they should rule the world. Similarly the Israelis are brainwashed and driven by the religious supremacist ideology of god’s chosen people in god’s promised land, and believe that it is their religious duty (mitzvah) to cleanse the world from all gentiles (non-Jews), and to establish a Jewish only world government in preparation for the coming of the Messiah. Such dangerous extreme ideology is taught to Israeli children since childhood.

Moshe Feiglin, who won a respectable position on the Likuds’ Knesset list for the upcoming Israeli election is an admirer of Hitler and his superior ideology. In an interview with the Ha’aretz Newspaper in 1995 he described Hitler as a military genius and a great nation builder. “Hitler was an unparallel military genius. Nazism had transformed Germany from a low to a fantastic physical and ideological status. The ragged, trashy youth body turned into a neat and orderly part of society and Germany received an exemplary regime, a proper justice system, and public order. … This was no bunch of thugs. They merely used thugs and homosexuals”. His holocaustal solution to the Palestinian problem, according to his Manhigut ha’Yehudit (Jewish leadership) website, is to order “the complete stoppage of water, electricity and communication” to the four million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

Feiglin expresses the inner sentiment of every Israeli political leader starting from their first Prime Minister Ben Gurion up to Tzipi Livni, the latest acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affair, who have been calling for the murder and the transfer of Palestinians out of the god’s promised land of Israel (Erez Israel). Their real policies become obvious and louder in their campaign rhetoric.

Such genocidal holocaustal tendencies are nurtured, encouraged and called for by top Israeli Rabbis and political leaders. Rabbi Yousef Obadia, the top Israeli religious leader, Rabbi Yisrael Rosen, director of the Tsomet Institute, Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, the leading religious authority in Israel’s religious national current and former chief Eastern rabbi for Israel, Rabbi Dov Lior, president of the Council of Rabbis of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, the chief rabbi of Safed and a candidate for the post of chief rabbi or Israel, Rabbi Eliyahu Kinvinsky, the second most senior authority in the Orthodox religious current, Rabbi Israel Ariel, one of the most prominent rabbis in the West Bank colonies, and Rabbi Yitzhaq Ginsburg, a top rabbi in Israel among many other extremist religious Israeli leaders are continually calling for total extermination and transfer of Palestinians.

Brainwashed and misguided Israelis, especially religious fundamentalists, regularly attack Palestinian towns, vandalize their churches, mosques and cemeteries with graffiti slogans such as “Death to Arabs”, “Gas the Arabs”, and “Mohammad is a pig”, occupying Palestinian after forcefully evicting their Palestinian owners, attacking farmers, burning their crops, cutting their fruit trees, poisoning their water wells, killing their farm animals, destroying properties, looting shops, terrorizing civilians and children and shooting people. Searching youtube.com for “Israeli settlers violence” to watch the hundreds of videos showing Israeli settlers terrorism.

One prominent similarity between Israel and the Nazis is their state sponsored terror groups. According to articles “Eichmann Tells His Own Damning Story”, Life Magazine, Volume 49, Number 22, (November 28th 1960) pp. 19-25, 101-112, and “Eichmann’s Own Story: Part II”, Life Magazine, December 6th 1960 pp. 146-161, Adolf Eichmann stated how Zionist leaders were idealist like Nazi leaders, willing to sacrifice hundred thousands of their own blood to achieve political goal. Lenni Brenner explains in his book “Zionism in the Age of Dictators”, in chapter 25, that Eichmann was referring here to a deal the Nazi struck with Zionist leaders, such as Hungarian Rezso Kastner, to save a few thousand hand-picked Zionists and wealthy Jews, who would immigrate to Palestine, in return for leading 750,000 Hungarian Jews, and other millions of European Jews to their death to make Jews “rightful victim”, so that World Zionist Organization would have the “right” to come “ before the bargaining table when they divide nations and lands at the war’s end … for only with (Jewish) blood shall we (Zionists) get the land.”

The Nazis set up Police Battalion 101, a terrorist group, whose sole purpose was hunting Jewish citizens, killing them and looting and destroying their property. Daniel Jonah Goldhagen states in his book “Hitler’s Willing Executioners” that Battalion 101 was responsible for “the deportation and gruesome slaughter in Poland of tens of thousands of Jewish men, women, and children”.

Israel had its own exact copy of Battalion 101 called Unit 101 under the terrorist Ariel Sharon, who later became Israel’s Prime Minister. Under Sharon’s leadership Unit 101 adopted the same criminal methods to terrorize Palestinians. It also implemented what became known as jeep raids; driving jeeps, with machine guns mounted on the front and rear, into Palestinian towns murdering inhabitants, dynamiting homes, and burning their fields. Since early 1950s Unit 101 was responsible for massacres in Palestinian towns such as Bureij refugee camp, Qibya, Idna, Surif, Wadi Fukin, Falameh, Rantis, Jerusalem, Budrus, Dawayima, Beit Liqya, Khan Younis and Gaza.

Israel had always resorted to terrorist attacks against Jews in other countries especially Arab countries, such as North African Arab countries, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan, to encourage Jewish Arab residents to immigrate to Israel. The Lavon Affair is just one famous terrorist related incident in Egypt.

In January 29th 1999 article in Israeli Ha’aretz paper, Gideon Spiro, a former member of the 890 battalion, stated that Unit 101 was an early, more primitive prototype for the more sophisticated liquidation units of Duvdevan and Shimshon established during the Intifada” Its operations were characterized by “lots of killing of civilians and little real combat”.

Israel is the only county in the world with many Prime Ministers, who were members of terrorist and state-sponsored terrorist organizations directly involved in slaughter of civilians. These include Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin, Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir, Ehud Barak, Ariel Sharon, and Shimon Peres.

Arnold Toynbee wrote “It was a supreme tragedy that the lesson learnt by them (the Jews) from their encounter with the Nazi German Gentiles should have been, not to eschew but to imitate some of the evil deeds that the Nazis had committed against the Jews.”

Israelis and Jews of the world have relentlessly pursued Nazi war criminals for decades for their war crimes committed during WWII. They chased Nazi war criminals for the rest of their lives, even when they were old and close to their death, to make them pay for their crimes. No doubts in my mind that Israeli war criminals, in turn, will be pursued and sentenced for their war crimes committed against Arabs.
